NW Marine Art Works is one of Portland's best-kept secrets: a sprawling complex of WWII-era industrial buildings in the NW hills, transformed into a community of 75+ fine artist studios. Painters, sculptors, printmakers, ceramicists, photographers, and mixed media artists work here side by side in converted warehouse space that retains the bones of its industrial past.
The complex hosts two Open Studios events each year · spring and winter · giving the public a rare chance to visit artists at work, watch demos, and buy directly from makers. Building 5 is a dedicated 5,000 square foot space for site-specific installation, performance, and community exhibition.
NW Marine Art Works is part of the Portland Art Studios collective, which also includes Carton Service Studios, North Coast Seed Studios, and River Street Studios.
