Lindsey Fox makes watercolor paintings shaped by landscape and pattern. She paints en plein air in the mountains and valleys of the Pacific Northwest, then brings those field studies into the studio to build abstract interpretations that balance observation with invention. Her goal is to make you feel like you are on a hike with her — to notice the wild patterns, the textures, the perspective, and the color relationships that photographs can never capture.
Fox grew up in Northern Michigan, earned her BFA in Fine Art at the University of Michigan, and has been based in Portland since. Her commitment to painting outdoors deepened after thru-hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016, and her work has continued to evolve in the decade since.
